Dr Shahidi has received the highest qualification awarded to Australian Surgeons – FRACS. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, in recognition of his academic and surgical training being fulfilled. He is also a member of the Australian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. His primary interest and area of interest and experience is Rhinoplasty Surgery. Dr Shahidi treats all aspects of nasal and sinus pathology and disease.
Dr Shahidi attended secondary school on Sydney’s leafy North Shore and was awarded Academic Excellence prior to University entrance. It has always been his desire to help people and medicine and surgery have provided that path.
On completion of his medical and research degree from the University of Sydney he commenced his internship and basic surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. On completion of his second year of advanced general surgical training he started training in the Otorhinolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery program. After a further 4 years of intensive study he completed his Fellowship of the College of Surgeons.

He then completed a Fellowship with the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery in Sydney. Dr Shahidi then travelled to the USA where he completed two mini fellowships in facial plastic surgery in Oregon and Indianapolis; this was followed by attendance at the workshop in Rhinoplasty surgery in Chicago. He then travelled to the UK.
Whilst in the UK, Dr Shahidi was the Clinical Fellow in Rhinology and Rhinoplasty Surgery based at Charing Cross Hospital in London and also at Royal United Hospital in Bath. Both positions demanded an advanced working knowledge of surgical techniques and their application to nasal, sinus anatomy and pathology.
Dr Shahidi has enjoyed mentorship and training alongside some of the world’s leaders in Rhinoplasty and Facial Plastic Surgery, including Drs Ted Cook, Tom Wang, Stephen Perkins, Hesham Saleh and Ian MacKay.
This international training has given Dr Shahidi a well rounded and broad-minded approach. His practice benefits from word-of-mouth referrals from both General Practitioners and patients who have attained satisfying results. He is continually committed and dedicated to continued education in advanced surgical techniques and methods in Rhinoplasty.
